Three new reports have been published to support the preparation of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy:

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â State of Nature Report 2023

Coming 5 years on from the publication of the 2018 Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â Biodiversity Action Plan, this report sets out the threats and challenges facing nature in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â today, presents facts and statistics on the current status of locally important habitats and species, and celebrates some of the success stories and projects being delivered by conservation groups across the county.

The State of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â’s Grasslands

A collaborative project undertaken by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â County Council, Natural England and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â Wildlife Trust, this report compares data from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â Grassland Inventory (surveys undertaken largely during the 1990s and 2000s) and the 2021 Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â Habitat Inventory, to interpret the changes which have occurred in semi-natural grassland type, extent, protection, management and condition. It is the first phase of a more comprehensive review of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â’s important semi-natural grasslands.

Assessment of Floodplain Meadows in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â and their potential to store soil carbon

This report by the Floodplain Meadows Partnership outlines the potential for soil carbon storage through floodplain meadow restoration and management in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â.
