Day opportunities (Day Centres)

Day opportunities (Day Centres)

There are a number of day opportunities around the county who offer support to individuals with complex learning disabilities, physical needs, mental health, autism and other related health and social care needs.

The opportunities vary depending on the provider, they may specialise on different activities, for example catering, animal care, gardening or retail, but the activities are tailored to match individual outcomes. The emphasis is on having fun, making friends, developing skills and promoting independence.

The Council run some of the Day Centres, and you can read more about them here: Learning disability day opportunities (Day centres).

In the area there are several charities and other agencies who run day opportunities for adults. In the drop downs below we have included the ones who offer provision for young adults and organised them by district. You will also find that we’ve also included some case studies about young people who have been clients of some of the providers.
