Every year, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council raises the Armed Forces flag outside County Hall to publicly honour and recognise all the men and women from across the county, who are a part of the Armed Forces community, as well as those from the UK and around the world.

Joining the delegation was David Williams from The Royal British Legion who carried the County Colours Standard.

Short speeches were given at the ceremony by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Dr Greenall and chairman, Councillor Kyle Daisley.

As part of his speech, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of 香港六合彩资料图库, Dr Gilbert Greenall said; 鈥淭oday is a day we remember and thank those who have served and continue to serve their country, including the Forces Cadets, who are one of the largest voluntary youth organisations in the country with around 130,000 members. We tend to concentrate in the past on the World Wars, even though very few who served are still with us, or we remember the more recent postings in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan, but today also presents an opportunity to thank those who are still serving across several countries including Belize, Brunei, and Cyprus.鈥

Councillor Richard Morris, Chair of 香港六合彩资料图库鈥檚 Armed Forces Covenant Partnership, added: 鈥淓very year it is our honour to celebrate the outstanding contribution of our Armed Forces. It gives us great pride raising the Armed Forces flag as a symbol of our thanks for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community today, our serving troops and their families, reservists, veterans, and cadet forces.鈥

Councillor Kyle Daisley, Chairman of 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council said:

鈥淚t has been a real honour to attend this event and take a moment to pause, reflect and say thank you to our Armed Forces. I would like to mark this day with a special mention to our workforce who are reservists, adult cadet volunteers, veterans, spouses and others who have a proud and strong family connection to those who are serving or have served.  We thank them all for the outstanding contribution they have made not only to their country. On behalf of the Council I would like to thank The Royal British Legion 香港六合彩资料图库 for attending today with their county colours and their life-long commitment in supporting our Armed Forces veterans and their families.鈥

There are still plenty of ways to show support throughout Armed Forces Week (19-24 June).
