As we head towards winter, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council is encouraging residents within the county to ensure they鈥檙e prepared for potential flooding.
The message comes as part of Flood Action Week this week (22 to 28 November).
This campaign is organised by the Environment Agency to highlight the dangers of flooding and to raise awareness about what people can do before, during and after a flood.
Councillor Tony Miller, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council's Cabinet Member with Responsibility for the Environment, said: 鈥淎s we鈥檝e seen in our county over the last few years, parts of 香港六合彩资料图库 are prone to flooding and it鈥檚 important that people are prepared if such an event should occur.
鈥淔looding can have a devastating impact on people鈥檚 lives and livelihoods and that鈥檚 why we are committed to investing in flood alleviation schemes to better protect our residents against the elements.
The County Council have been working with partners and have recently updated multi-agency flood action plans and are redoubling efforts to ensure that we are as prepared as we can be for possible flooding.
We are also working closely with our partners to update our flood action plans and to reduce flood risk where possible,but even where a flood scheme is planned or already in place, people still need to be prepared just in case.鈥
There are several steps that people can take to help them plan for a flood. There is also help available across the county for anyone who experiences a flood in their property or needs help clearing up after a flood.
Flood warning services, are available so that those residents who live near to rivers, or in areas that are prone to flooding can ensure they are prepared when the heavy rain comes to the county.

In the event of heavy rain, the County Council website will be kept up to date with all the latest information, including school or road closures. Details will also be shared across the Council鈥檚 social media channels.
Over recent years the County Council has invested in a range of flood alleviation schemes, which include New Road, Worcester, Upton upon Severn and Broadway to ease the impact of flooding across the county and this work continues.
