Councillor Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities said: 鈥淥ur libraries are thriving community spaces where people go to meet with one another and participate in a wide range of services. As a parent myself, I appreciate the struggle to keep the boredom at bay during half-term holidays and would encourage anyone looking for something creative to do this half-term, to see what your local library is offering.
鈥淭his year's theme is all about educating and empowering the next generation on environmental issues, sustainability, and climate change. Libraries are paving the way to a more sustainable future for all.鈥
Half-term isn't the only time we offer activities. There is something for everyone, all-year round! Pop into your local library, meet and make friends at our many children鈥檚 groups which include: Bounce and Rhyme and Storytime for babies and little ones, or come along to one of our LEGO Clubs or Code Clubs for children 5 years old and over.
Libraries are also a great place for children and young people to catch up on homework or revision with warm and welcoming study spaces for individuals or groups.
