ϲͼ Children First Fostering are hoping the latest John Lewis Christmas advert will inspire future foster carers to come forward and join the biggest fostering family in the county.

The advert called “The Beginner” features a middle-aged man trying to learn skateboarding skills so that he has something in common with a young girl called Ellie to help her feel welcome in her new foster home.

Councillor Andy Roberts, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Children and Families at ϲͼ County Council, said: “While we already have many brilliant foster carers across the county, the reality is we always need more people to open their homes and their hearts to fostering.

“Joining the county’s family of foster carers is a real commitment, and we encourage those considering fostering to find out more before making the decision; speak with local fostering families, and staff to find out more about what life could be like as a foster carer and the rewarding feeling you get when you make the difference to a child’s life.

“We need people to come forward who will enjoy caring for children and who have patience, resilience and want to make a difference. Making the decision to foster a child is one of the biggest, but one of the most rewarding decisions you can make.”

ϲͼ Children First Fostering only provides foster care placements for ϲͼ children meaning you are far more likely to be successfully matched with a local child or brothers and sisters and get access to fantastic local support when you join our network of local foster carers. You no longer need a spare bedroom, we are looking for families to care for children from birth up to 18 years old.
