Running is a great way to add in fitness to your life, and keep yourself independent for longer, it really does help to add years on to your life. It鈥檚 a great opportunity to create time for yourself, and I find it really clearing for my mind. Socially it is great too, being part of a running group, and chatting to people. I actually find it easier chatting to people when I鈥檓 running! I think I have the best job in the world running a running group.鈥
Marie currently runs Happy Feet Fitness, a family run business which encourages people to start running.
She is also a breast cancer survivor, who found running benefitted her recovery and now devotes a lot of her time looking after her five grandchildren, as well as keeping local people moving in her local running group.
Abi is a run leader, who is passionate about helping people discover how running can help improve their physical and mental health.
She joined a running club in 2017 and has gone on to become a run leader. She enjoyed this so much, she went on to take the England Athletics 鈥楥oach In Running Fitness鈥 course and become a fully fledged coach.
Abi added: 鈥淭he medals look great, and something to remember the return of the Wythall and Hollywood Fun Run by. I am really proud to be part of this event and encourage first time runners to get involved in this friendly atmosphere, and I鈥檓 looking forward to seeing runners wearing their medal after they cross the finish line.鈥
