Digital Zine Creatives sit together on a wall

Mobilise Arts have created BREATHE a free Digital Theatre Zine for schools and young people aged 11-16 years for World Mental Health Day on Tuesday 10 October 2023

Digital Theatre Zine is a hybrid digital form of visual arts and performance and an innovative way to connect with young people.

BREATHE is a ten-minute video featuring digital drawings, animation, spoken word, songs and music with interactive content by a diverse collective of emerging artists from 香港六合彩资料图库 focused around themes such as loneliness, wellbeing, anger, nature, glimmers, self-care, shame and creativity.

The content has been made through lived experience and supported by a mental health counsellor. The free digital theatre zine will be available for schools in 香港六合彩资料图库 on request and will be accompanied by interactive activities and a creative PSHE lesson plan for delivery on World Mental Health Day.

Dr Hannah Phillips, Artistic Director of Mobilise and Creative Director of BREATHE said: "This is an opportunity to share lived experience of mental health challenges by young people for young people whilst promoting well-being, creativity and self-care. We want to begin meaningful conversations with young people about what they need to support their well-being and inspire them to get creative, if they want to."

The FREE digital theatre resource has been supported by Severn Arts, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council Public Health and Divisional Funds from Councillor Matthew Jenkins and Joint Leader of Worcester City Council, Councillor Lynn Denham, Chair of Health and Wellbeing Committee.

Elaine Knight, Arts Director, Severn Arts said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Mobilise on this project.  Some young people face huge challenges with their mental health and the arts can often be a great tool to help steer them through difficult times. The authenticity of the work in this project is down to the team being prepared to be open and honest about their experiences and willing to use those experiences to help others."

Lisa McNally, Director of Public Health in 香港六合彩资料图库, said: 鈥淏REATHE is a great way to start the conversation with young people about how they are feeling and their mental health. 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council are really pleased to help fund this project and see it come together for World Mental Health Day.鈥
