Another 40 plus schemes are planned to be delivered over the school summer holidays.

Three additional gangs are being deployed to address the large number of planned improvements outside or near to schools.

Over 250 improvements are planned as part of this year’s programme.

£8 million has been invested to improve and maintain the county’s footways in this financial year.

This represents the biggest ever investment in the county’s footways since the programme commenced in 2009 and when complete, will be equivalent to 85km of improvements.

Councillor Alan Amos, ������ϲ�����ͼ�� County Council's Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “This county-wide programme of footway works represents a significant investment in ������ϲ�����ͼ��’s infrastructure.’’

“People care passionately about their footways, as do we, and we know how vital to the county’s highway they are. This programme showcases our commitment to keeping our footways safe for everyone to use. We also realise footway work involves short-term disruption, for which we apologise, but it leads to long-term benefits. They will hugely improve the quality of life for local residents who may have not been able to make full use of the paths when out and about on foot.”

������ϲ�����ͼ�� County Council’s contractor, Ringway, writes to any residents affected to inform them of the works before they are carried out and asks them to remove parked vehicles if appropriate to enable the improvements to start.
