Published date

This is World Autism Acceptance Week, and residents are being invited to have their say on a new All-Age Autism Strategy, due to launch later this year across Herefordshire and 香港六合彩资料图库.

Autism Partnership Boards from across the two counties want to know what needs to be done to improve the lives of autistic people. A survey, supported by 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council, has been launched today 鈥 and we want to hear from you!

The survey will look to get the views and experiences from autistic people, families, provider organisations, professionals and everyone in our local communities.

Bernadette Louise, ICS Autism Champion, NHS Herefordshire and 香港六合彩资料图库, said: 鈥淭he autism strategy survey is just our starting point. We need to hear your views and experiences, as well as gather feedback about gaps and barriers in your daily lives. I want to know what works well for you, and what is hard some days. Where do you hit stumbling blocks and who is there to support you when you do. This is our chance to start breaking down local barriers. Be heard, let鈥檚 talk!鈥

By completing the survey you will be helping to shape a new Autism Strategy, that will help support autistic people in Herefordshire and 香港六合彩资料图库 in their everyday lives.

The new All-Age Autism Strategy will be developed in line with the National Autism Strategy.

It will focus on 7 priority areas:

鈥    improving understanding and acceptance of autism within society.

鈥    improving autistic children and young people鈥檚 access into education, and support positive transitions into adulthood.

鈥    supporting more autistic people into employment.

鈥    tackling health and care inequalities for autistic people

鈥    building the right support in the community.

鈥    improving support in criminal and youth justice systems.

鈥    keeping safe.

Please go to the All Age Autism Strategy pages of the Council's website for more information and to share your experiences with us. There is a space for you to send in an email, picture, or video if you would prefer to feedback this way.

The survey will close on Sunday 14 May 2023.
