The new underpass, which has been constructed as part of Worcester鈥檚 A4440 Southern Link Road improvements, is set to open later this week.
The underpass is the fourth brand-new crossing to be installed, adding to the already open Hams Way Footbridge, Crookbarrow Way Footbridge and Broomhall Way Footbridge.
The underpass runs under Temeside Way, between the Ketch Roundabout and Carrington Bridge, and will replace the current uncontrolled at-grade road crossing.
The underpass, which will offer a safer, traffic-free, crossing for pedestrians and cyclists will open on Friday 13 May.
Councillor Alan Amos, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council's Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Highways and Transport, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 great that we now have all four new crossings of the Southern Link Road operational, improving access and providing safer routes across the busy road.
鈥淭his underpass, alongside the bridges, and a much wider shared walking and cycle path between the Ketch roundabout and Powick roundabout, will vastly improve the walking and cycling routes in the area. This is in addition to the scheme providing a dual carriageway for traffic from the M5 to Powick roundabout.鈥
Over the coming weeks, there will be some finishing touches needed to complete the works on the underpass, and users are asked to follow any advice provided on site.
