There is one week left for people to share their thoughts about an ambitious proposed network of walking and cycling routes across Redditch.
The engagement exercise closes on Friday 24 November 2023 at 5:00pm and the outcomes will inform the development of Redditch鈥檚 first Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP).
A LCWIP sets out a long-term plan for delivering new or improved infrastructure for walking and cycling. In line with national guidance, it focuses on areas where there is a larger density of population and therefore the greatest propensity to increase levels of cycling and walking.
Councillor Mike Rouse, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council鈥檚 Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport said,
鈥淲e鈥檙e working on a new cycle network plan for Redditch, and we鈥檇 really like to hear what people think about it.鈥
鈥淭his new plan, called an LCWIP, is important because it helps us secure funding from the Department for Transport. This funding isn鈥檛 just for cycling, but also for road repairs.鈥
鈥淲e want everyone in Redditch to tell us what they think about our new routes. We know Redditch already has some good cycle paths, but we aim to make them even better.鈥
鈥淲e want to emphasise that this is just a draft. Nothing鈥檚 final yet. Your feedback truly matters to us and will shape the final plan. This is your opportunity to have a say and help us make the best decisions for Redditch. We鈥檙e listening, and we want to work together to get this right.鈥
The outcomes of the engagement will inform the LCWIP document which is due to be drafted and submitted for further engagement during 2024.
