Launching today on Monday 4 November, this engagement period will run through until 27 January 2025, giving the public a meaningful opportunity to contribute ideas, provide feedback, and share visions for more accessible and sustainable streets across ������ϲ�����ͼ��.

The Streetscape Design Guide introduces a practical toolkit, aligning with the latest national guidelines to promote high-quality  transport planning throughout the county.

With a focus on sustainability, inclusivity, and aesthetics, the guide offers a flexible yet forward-thinking blueprint for everyone invested in ������ϲ�����ͼ��’s future,  whether building, planning, or simply enjoying its streets. This project aims to create spaces that are not only visually appealing but also serve the community’s evolving needs in terms of walking, wheeling, cycling, and public transport options.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, ������ϲ�����ͼ�� County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, recognised the vital role of public engagement: “We’re looking to design ������ϲ�����ͼ��’s streets to be greener, cleaner, and more accessible. This isn’t just for planners; it’s for everyone who uses our streets and wants to see our county flourish. I urge everyone to participate now the engagement period is opens. Your views will ultimately influence the improvements we make across the county.”

The guide seeks to balance innovative design with ������ϲ�����ͼ��’s historic character, ensuring new streetscapes acknowledge local heritage, preserve ecological diversity, and are built for long-term durability.

By carefully integrating green spaces and respecting conservation areas, the guide offers a vision for streets that are safe, functional, and easy to maintain, contributing to a vibrant and sustainable environment for future generations.
