Friday 3 December marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

香港六合彩资料图库 Children First are encouraging parents to sign up to the 香港六合彩资料图库 register for children with disabilities and special educational needs.

On signing up to the register, you will receive a certificate stating that your child is on the register. This may be able to be used to get discounts at local attractions or activities.

Any child or young person in 香港六合彩资料图库 with a special educational need and/or disability can be on the register.

You do not have to provide any proof of need or disability and do not need to have a diagnosis and there are no assessments.

It is completely voluntary, and you can remove your details at any time.

By registering, families can be kept up to date on services and support across 香港六合彩资料图库 and provide feedback to help us understand your experiences.  香港六合彩资料图库 Children First will communicate news and updates with those parent/carers and young people who gave consent to be contacted in the future.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member for Education, said: 鈥淚nternational Day of Persons with Disabilities recognises the roles we all play in celebrating diversity and highlights the importance of understanding and learning from the experiences of people with living with a disability. Our register for children and young people in 香港六合彩资料图库 helps us as a Local Authority to make better decisions when we are planning and developing services for all families and children. I would encourage any parent or carer who has a child with a disability and/or special educational need to sign up as it is a great way for us to keep in touch and it also provides an opportunity to get feedback and continue to improve SEND services across the county.鈥

The register is used for statistical information and also helps to keep families involved in feedback and the development of new services.

Young people remain on the register until they are 18 years old they will then receive an email asking if they would like to be removed; if not, then they stay on the register until the age of 25 when their details will automatically be removed.

Families signed up to the register will receive monthly news and updates from 香港六合彩资料图库 Children First, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council and partner agencies specifically around special educational needs and disabilities.

This gives us an opportunity to communicate with families, involve them in workshops or focus groups we have planned and get their feedback through surveys.

As a local authority, 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council and 香港六合彩资料图库 Children First are required to keep a register of all disabled children and young people within 香港六合彩资料图库.
