Works on the new bridge got underway in late October, with the bridge opening to the public on Tuesday 17 December.

The bridge had to be removed after vandals breached the barrier and the bridge was damaged beyond repair. 

As the owners of the bridge, ������ϲ�����ͼ�� County Council has installed the replacement.

The replacement is a polymer bridge, with reinforced concrete foundations. This type of bridge was chosen to ensure durability and stability.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, ������ϲ�����ͼ�� County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, said: “We know the previous bridge was well-used and much-loved, so I’m delighted to see the new bridge now open, allowing it to remain part of the community for many years to come. We’ve managed to complete the bridge works ahead of schedule, so I’d like to thank the team for their hard work and dedication on this project. We have worked closely with Wyre Forest District Council and the Environment Agency to ensure the new bridge will be more stable and longer lasting for everyone to enjoy.”

Works were carried out with the support of our partners at Wyre Forest District Council.

Councillor Ben Brookes, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Operational Services said: “We are very pleased that the replacement bridge is now in place, as we know the installation of a new bridge is something local residents have been keen to see.
