Three of the county鈥檚 primary schools have been chosen to receive trees that featured in the Tree of Trees installation for the Queen鈥檚 Platinum Jubilee.

Birchen Coppice Primary Academy in Kidderminster, Woodrow First School in Redditch and Stanley Road Primary School in Worcester have all been chosen to receive a tree. Dates for planting of the trees will be announced soon.

The Tree of Trees was a massive installation that was placed outside Buckingham Palace during the celebrations for the Queen鈥檚 Platinum Jubilee earlier this year.

The installation was made in the form of a huge tree using 350 Aluminium buckets, with the Queens Royal Cypher embossed on them. 鈥 each contains a native woodland tree about 2 metres tall.

The criteria for nominations for areas to receive trees were that they are given to areas of low canopy cover and high socioeconomic deprivation, hoping that the schools promote a cleaner, greener environment, and will benefit the wider community.

The criteria when nominating the schools, asked to show that there are educational benefits, but most importantly of all, that it will create a living legacy in honour of Her Late Majesty鈥檚 70 years on the throne.

Lt Col Patrick Holcroft CVO OBE, Lord-Lieutenant of 香港六合彩资料图库, said:

鈥淭he Tree of Trees was designed by Thomas Heatherwick and the sculpture reflected the enthusiasm so many of us found for 鈥榩lanting a tree for the Jubilee鈥 which swept the nation as part of The Queen鈥檚 Green Canopy (QGC). People across the nation, including 香港六合彩资料图库, were inspired to plant over a million trees during the Queen鈥檚 Green Canopy鈥檚 first season, from October 2021 to March 2022.

The trees which we are planting at these primary schools in 香港六合彩资料图库 are a direct link to the 鈥楾ree of Trees鈥 and we are delighted that the county has had this opportunity to take such a direct part in a project that was so important to Her Late Majesty  who planted more than 1,500 trees all over the world throughout the course of her 70-year reign.鈥

Communities across the county have already planted nearly 50,000 trees in celebration of Her Majesty reaching her Platinum Jubilee, and to honour her remarkable reign.
