W is for Wellbeing

Published date

Good mental health and wellbeing is one of our main priorities.

Maintaining and improving our health and wellbeing enables us to reach our potential and stay well through life’s tough times.

There are many things that can affect our health and wellbeing, not just good health care. Many of the County Council’s services can make a difference too, like enjoying one of our green spaces and connecting with others on a course or library activity.

Every year the County Council produces a report on the health and wellbeing of the people in Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â. The aim of this is to find out what’s working well and where we could do more.

This year, we have witnessed:

•    A significant rise in the uptake of bowel cancer screenings
•    A drop in the number of pregnant women smoking
•    A large rise in young people’s physical activity

Looking to the future, we would like to do more to work in areas where there are unfair differences in health care due to income, knowing about and being able to get to health services and ongoing mental health pressure for children and young people.

This year’s update of the latest health and wellbeing data for Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â has been published as a user-friendly presentation on Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏͼ¿â County Council’s website. To read the full report, visit the JSNA Annual Summaries webpage.
