The Chief Executive has overall responsibility for the running of the council and leading staff to achieve the organisation's four corporate priorities which local people have said are important: Open for Business, Children and Families, the Environment and Health and Well-being.

Chief Executive

Paul RobinsonPaul Robinson

Paul heads up the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) of the most senior staff.

Working alongside our Councillors, Paul leads County Council staff to achieve the organisation's four corporate priorities

As the organisation continues to rise to the financial challenge, Paul ensures that local people, businesses and communities have the opportunity to have their say and feed into any proposed service or policy changes. Our Chief Executive also works closely with partner organisations building on our influence, locally, regionally and nationally to benefit local people and our economy.

Strategic Director for Adults and Communities

Mark Fitton

Key Accountabilities

Mark is accountable for the Council's duties under adult social care legislation, and the Care Act. 

This includes providing information and advice for people about how to stay well and independent, preventing needs arising, enabling self-care, assessing people's needs for adult social care, arranging services for eligible individuals, and ensuring the sustainability and quality of services.

Strategic Director for Children鈥檚 Services

Adam JohnstonAdam Johnston

Key Accountabilities

Leading on integrated services to children, young people and their families, which includes: 

  • education including schools, early years and children's centres
  • youth services
  • children's social care

With responsibilities for strategic leadership on partnership co-operation to improve the wellbeing of children and young people in 香港六合彩资料图库 through Children's Services and the Children and Young People鈥檚 Strategic Partnership.

Director of Economy and Infrastructure

John HobbsJohn Hobbs

Key Accountabilities

Maintaining highways, developing public transport provision, promoting sustainable travel, supporting the county's businesses with advice and access to funding, managing waste disposal services and Planning and Regulatory functions, promotion of recycling, re-use and sustainability; and promoting 香港六合彩资料图库's countryside.

Career Information

John began his career as a quantity surveyor in private practice later training as a solicitor, also in private practice, and studying for a master's degree in the law related to commercial property. John worked as Divisional Solicitor for Tarmac's Civil Engineering and then in contract management for train manufacturing company, Bombardier, followed by four years as a Commercial Director and Consultant for Alstom Transport.

John joined 香港六合彩资料图库 County Council as Director of Environmental Services in January 2006.
