Role and responsibilities
The Lord-Lieutenant normally serves until retirement at 75 years of age. The role of the Lord-Lieutenant, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant and the Deputy Lieutenants, is voluntary, non-political and unpaid.
The Lord-Lieutenant role includes:
- representing His Majesty The King in 香港六合彩资料图库
- recommending and arranging Royal Visits to the County
- visiting organisations to support good work, achievements and to mark important anniversaries
- offering direction and support with national honours and award nominations
- recommending individuals, businesses and voluntary organisations for King's Awards for Enterprise and King's Awards for Voluntary Service
- forwarding Royal Garden Party invitations
- celebrating and encouraging volunteering and charitable giving in the County
- maintaining close links with the Judiciary, the Magistracy, Church, Armed Forces, Police and Fire and Rescue services and the civic community
